Rev. Gilly Nord Andrews, 75, resident of Southport Road in Culleoka, died Monday, May 9, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. J.O. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 3 - 8 p.m. and Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mt. The Maury County native was the son of the late Charles Glenson Andrews and Audie Mae "Polly" Parrish Andrews. He was a graduate of Columbia State Community College and attended Belmont College. Rev. Andrews served in the U.S. Army. On December 10, 1957 he married Mary Ann Nunn Andrews who preceded him in death September 27, 1994. On May 18, 2002 he married Jemmy Benderman Andrews of Culleoka who survives him. He was former minister at Rock Springs Baptist Church and Cross Bridges Baptist Church and was presently minister at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Lewisburg where he was also a member. He was a real estate agent for Progressive Realty in Columbia and retired from Stauffer Chemical Company. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Deborah (Dennis) Beaty of Hixson, Donna (Wendell) McClure of Cornersville, Dennis (Tammy) Andrews and Kirk (Susan) Marks both of Columbia; two sisters, Delores "Dee" Andrews of Tampa, Florida, Kathy Andrews of Clearwater, Florida; brothers, Sam (Marylou) Andrews of Columbia, Jerry (Brenda) Andrews of Hohenwald, Randy Andrews of Murfreesboro; eight grandchildren, Derek (Mary) Beaty, Deanna Beaty, Ryan McClure, Tyler McClure, Ashlee Andrews, Katie Andrews, Mychael Chunn and Alexia Marks; three great grandchildren, Kelsey Beaty, Harrison Beaty, Sophia Chunn; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dogs, Daisy Mae and Miss Albie. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Andrews, Betty Mai Andrews Howell, Nadine Andrews Masterson and three brothers, C.G. Andrews, Eddie Andrews and Dennis Paul Andrews. Pallbearers will be Robert Andrews, Kirk Marks, Wesley Benderman, John Benderman, James Keel, Steven Andrews and Shannon Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.
