View Video TributeView Funeral WebcastRichard Brown "Worm" Luna, 67, twenty-five year employee of Tennessee Farm Bureau and resident of Brookside Drive, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402 or Columbia Elk's Lodge Scholarship Fund, 1208 WKRM Lane, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the son of the late Mahlon Luna and Lora Pigg Luna. The 1967 graduate of Columbia Central High School attended University of Tennessee and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Austin Peay University. He was a member and former Exalted Ruler of Columbia Elks Lodge #686. Survivors include his nephews, Monte Luna and Kyle (Aimee) Luna, both of Columbia; sister-in-law, Linda Gail Luna; special friend, Delanie Thurman of Columbia; great nephews, Chance Luna, Heath Luna, Blake Luna; great niece, Bailee Luna; cousins, Keith Ward, David Ward, Gary Luna, Mike Carpenter, Tommy Parker, and Susan Parker. He was preceded in death by a brother, Monte Luna and a special family friend, Bob Alexander. Active pallbearers will be Chance Luna, Heath Luna, Blake Luna, Joe Horne, Mike Bone, Harry Mac Bryant, Randy Speed, Mike Carpenter, Bill White, and W. L. Culberson. Honorary pallbearers include Eric Thurman, Ray "Bull" Fleming, Greg Howell, Ronnie Grooms, Mike Cook, Johnny Smith, Tim Smith, Larry Davis, Johnny Reece, Terry Rippy, David Dillehay, Gary Luna, Tennessee Farm Bureau Claims Adjusters, members of Columbia Elks Lodge #686, and Tennessee River Family.
