Robert Jennings "Bobby" Bradley, 83, retired employee of E.I. DuPont and former resident of Mere Drive, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at NHC Columbia. A memorial graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeff Jacob officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday after 4 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, VU Station B #357727, Nashville, TN, 37235 or Pet Pals of Maury County, P.O. Box 1623, Columbia, TN 38402. The Maury County native was the son of the late M.M. Bradley, Sr. and Louise Woody Bradley. He was a 1945 graduate of Central High School. On September 27, 1967 he married Delores McKee Bradley who preceded him in death November 29, 2007. Mr. Bradley served in the U.S. Army, 1st Constabulary Brigade, 4th Armored Division during World War II. Following his service in the War he was a Major in the Columbia National Guard. He was a lifetime member and Past Commander of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 and was a member of the 40 & 8 where he served as the local Chef De Gare of Columbia and Voiture and Grand Chef De Gare of Tennessee. He and his wife were former owners and operators of Bradley's Dog School and enjoyed traveling in their RV. He also loved woodworking. Mr. Bradley was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include three children Deborah Bradley (Tom) Colvert of Mt. Pleasant, Robert Daniel Bradley of Nashville, Anne Bradley (John) McCormick of Cordova; stepchildren Deborah Graham (Dan) Logan of Tullahoma, Mark A. (Katy) Graham of Brentwood, C. Thomas "Tommy" (Andrea) Graham of Florence, Alabama; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; nephew Larry Dooley of Jackson; nieces Pat Brossett of Irvin, Texas, Janet Renfro of Culleoka; and sister-in-law Betty Horton Bradley of Irvin, Texas. He was preceded in death by a son Timothy M. Bradley, sister Anna Belle Bradley Dooley and a brother M.M. Bradley, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are members of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19, Past Employees of E.I. DuPont, Ashley Brown, David Wise, Jim Borum, Dewey Skillington, Jack Hendley and employees of NHC Columbia.
