Robert "Petey" Matthews

Robert Earl "Petey" Matthews, 70, employee of Cranford Lumber Company, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his residence on Brannon Court. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 5:00 P.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born May 4, 1944 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, he was the son of the late Robert Clayton Matthews and Lourine Katherine Johnson Matthews Holt. He was a member of Sharp's Corner Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Charse Ann Daniel Matthews of Columbia; stepsons, Carlton Lee Wilson of Alabama; Jimmy Ray Wilson of Columbia; and sister, Fay Heath of Nashville. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Wayne Matthews.
