View Video Tribute Mr. Roger Lloyd Dodson, 65, retired from Hyperion and Monsanto and resident of Hunter Drive, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Kevin Maxey officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday after 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of Catherine Gilliam Dodson of Columbia and the late Rabon Clyde "R.C." Dodson. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Mooresville Pike Church of Christ. Survivors in addition to his mother include his son, Michael (Stacey) Dodson of Spring Hill; daughters, Denise (Ronnie) Jett of Woodbury, Becky Marie Dodson Easley of Nashville; brother, Rabon (Linda) Dodson of Columbia; sisters, Peggy (G.E.) Poore of Nashville, Donna (Mike) McDonald of Williamsport; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane Smith Dodson in 2009, sisters, Elizabeth June Dodson, Shirley Dodson McCandless and nephew, Jeff McDonald. Active pallbearers include Mikel Smith, Cosmin Cazan, Jackie Sprouse, Branden Sprouse, Mike McDonald, Jason McDonald, Greg Dodson and Brian Poore. Honorary pallbearers will be Dorris Rader, Jim Smith, Ron Ingram and Doug Hethcoat.
