View Video TributeView Funeral Service WebcastRonald Dean "Ronnie" Ring, Sr., 66, loving husband, father and grandfather, and resident of Lookout Drive, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Kenny McFarlen officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 1 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late William Percy Thomas Ring and Rachel Gertrude Amick Ring. Mr. Ring had recently retired from the Maury County Highway Department after 12 years of service. He was formerly employed by Beaman Bottling Co. for 36 years and was well known as the "Pepsi Man". He was a member of the Columbia Jaycees, Columbia Elks Lodge 686 and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a member of New Lasea Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Faye Cox Ring of Columbia; sons, Ronald D. (Anita) Ring, Jr., Thomas Edward (Tracy) Ring both of Columbia; sister, Peggy Sampson of Lewisburg; brothers, Billy (Jennie) Ring of Spring Hill, Homer Lee Ring of Columbia; grandchildren, Matthew Tanner Ring, Tyler Lee Ring, Tanner Evan Ring all of Columbia; sister-in-law, Carlon (Allen) Teasley of Columbia; brother-in-law, Richard (Debbie) Cox of Hillsboro, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Ring, Freddie Ring, Dale Jackson, Bobby Crowell, Ian Rommerskirchen, Brian Cox, Mike Carter and Jason Ring. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn "Greasy" Johnson, Bob Meacham, Jerry Attkisson, Randy Hunt, Jerry Alderson, past and present employees of Beaman Bottling Company, past and present employees of Maury County Highway Department, past and present members of Columbia Jaycees and past and present members of Fraternal Order of Police.
