Rosa Hie Perko, 83, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and one that most referred to as having a heart of gold by anyone fortunate enough to have known her, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025 at her residence with her family by her side.
A funeral mass will be conducted Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Michael O’Connor and Deacon Daniel McCulley officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Catherine Catholic Church.

Rosa was born in Szomar, Hungary to the late Tony Hie and the late Anna Tisil Hie, they immigrated to Columbia, Tennessee in the 1950’s for a better life. She graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1960. On February 11, 1961 she married the love of her life Joseph and their love endured and brought over 64 years of devotion, care and love to their lives. She was a retired bookkeeper with Miller Bookkeeping for over 20 years but her greatest joy in life revolved around her dedication to her husband, family, home and friends. Rosa was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church for over 64 years.
Survivors include her devoted husband Joseph Perko of Columbia; two beloved daughters, Rosemary Edmonds (Terry) and Teresia Vinson (Vince) both of Columbia; four siblings, Tony Hie (Nita) of Columbia, Anna Caldwell (Billy) of Columbia, Maggie Hanes of Culleoka and John Hie (Tricia) of Nashville; four grandchildren, Joey Edmonds (Rachael), Christina Sabin (Joe), Julianna Cohen (Scott) and Stephanie Ellis (Ben); four great grandchildren, Aaron Joseph Sabin, Leo Edmonds, Ezri Rose Sabin, and Rudy Edmonds; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joe Sabin, Bennett Ellis, Joey Edmonds, Scott Cohen, Britt Hanes, and Brian Hanes. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Andrew Nielsen for his extraordinary care that went above and beyond the call of duty, her therapist Charina Tijing, special friend Cheryl Reischman, and caregivers, Shirley, Kiera, Trish and LaToya and the Knights of Columbus that made it possible for her to be in her home.
