Roswitha Sellmann Peters

In the early evening of January 1, 2016, our beloved mother Roswitha Sellmann Peters passed from this life after bravely battling various serious illnesses for many years. A graveside memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements. Born in Berlin, Germany on November 26, 1943, she moved to this country in 1967, with two small children in tow and lived in Arkansas, where she would meet her life partner and husband, Jerry A. Peters. Together they would raise three more sons and in 1993, they would make Florida their final home. Mrs. Peters was a true warrior who devoted her life to her family above all. Preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, Jerry A. Peters and a son Randall L. Sellmann, she is survived by her daughter, Leela Sellmann; sons, Michael W. (Malina) Peters, Terry A. (Karen) Peters, and Tommy R. Peters; sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her brother, Hans-Joachim (Annette) Wiesener of Berlin, Germany, as well as a niece and nephew. Mom, you were the strongest and bravest person whom we ever knew. May you finally have the peace and joy you so deserve. We will always love you and miss you terribly! Until we see each other again, "Be Free, Mom".
