Ruby Cummins Hill, 84, homemaker and longtime resident of Perkins Lane, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at NHC Hillview. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with John Vaughan officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Leslie Washington Cummins and Esther Adams Cummins. On December 26, 1953 she married Lemuel Francis "Lefty" Hill who preceded her in death on May 14, 1984. She was a 1949 graduate of Hay Long High School in Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Hill enjoyed needlework and birdwatching. An excellent cook, she had acquired a vast collection of cookbooks through the years. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughters, Melody Frances Hill and Mila Michelle Hill, both of Columbia; and her "special children" Brian Fuller and Lyndsay Fuller Sanders; sister-in-law, Doris Rollins of Dickson; brother-in-law, Steve Hill of Dickson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Raymond Workman, James Fuller, Brian Fuller, Austin Adams, Craig Sanders, Ray Grove, Larry Hill, Duane Korby, Scottie Rollins, and Brent LeMay.
