View Funeral WebcastMs. Ruby Mae "Davis" Loftin, 100, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at her residence on Riverside Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday and Saturday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Ms. Loftin was born October 7, 1908 in Maury County, the daughter of the late Tipton Loftin and Willie Oda Moses Loftin. She attended Maury County Schools and was a graduate of Columbia Business College. Mrs. Loftin worked as a seamstress, secretary and entrepreneur and was a former antique collector and dealer. She loved sewing and gardening. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include a son-in-law, Robert L. Hobbs of Lewisburg; two granddaughters, Vicki (Chip Watkins) Gray of Chapel Hill, Marlene (John) Kirk of Columbia; four great-grandchildren, Brian (Tracy) Pullum of Lewisburg, Christy (Brian) Bennett, Adam Gray, Ashley Kirk all of Columbia; six great-great-grandchildren, Steven Pullum, Patricia Pullum, Brittany Ring, Willie Bennett, Waylon Bennett, Gavin Gray; three nephews, Jimmy (Louise) Ragan of Lewisburg, William Martin and Teenie Wagner both of Wyandotte, Michigan; and special friend, Michael Crutcher of Columbia. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Hobbs and Bobbie Jean Gray, one granddaughter, Gloria Jean Gray Thomas, two sisters, Grace Jackson and Imogene Ragan and son-in-law, William Hine "Bill" Gray. Pallbearers will be Adam Gray, Brian Bennett, John Kirk, Michael Crutcher, William Bennett, Ted Barnes and Billy White. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Gaylon Harris and Staff and Dr. Timothy Gordon and Staff.
