View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Ruby Lee Green Reed, 94, longtime resident of Kedron Road in Spring Hill, departed this earth to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at her residence on 15th St. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Brother Ronnie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Knob Creek Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to King's Daughters' School, 412 West 9th St., Columbia, TN 38401 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. On November 16, 1935 she married Irvin Seay Reed who preceded her in death April 27, 1981. Mrs. Reed was known for her love of flowers and quilting and spending time with her family. She had been a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church and most recently Neapolis United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Margret Minshall of Franklin, Carolyn Reed of Columbia, Sarah Mitchell of Culleoka, Donna (Ray) Foster of Chapel Hill; sons, Irvin Reed, Jr. and Fred (Margaret) Reed both of Columbia, Stanley (Cathy) Reed of Mt. Pleasant, Buck (Jamie) Reed of Culleoka; sister, Mary Ellen Harper of Franklin; brother, G.A. Green of Nashville; sister-in-law, Elaine Green of Franklin; twenty-six grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jane Reed, two sons, James Reed and Richard Reed; grandchildren, David Reed, Cindy Ketchum Brooks, Tony McGaw; one sister; and five brothers. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Frankie Martin, Michael Martin, Tony Helmeck, Ricky Reed, Travis Ketchum, "Bubba" McGaw, and David Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Stephen Simmons and Brenda Malugin and Lori Adams from Caris Hospice.
