View Video Tribute Russell Ray Lewis, 46, resident of Nashville, died Monday, December 17, 2012 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Virgil Lewis and Brent Lewis officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Nashville Humane Association, 213 Osceola Ave., Nashville, TN 37209. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Davidson County native was the son of Virgil and Johnsie McMurry Lewis of Lynnville. He was a graduate of Richland High School. After a brief employment with a travel agency, his career was focused on the food and restaurant industry having worked at several Nashville establishments. Survivors in addition to his parents include a brother, Brent (Kristi) Lewis of Lynnville; sister, Vickie (Greg) Mantooth of Lynnville; one niece; and three nephews.
