Ryan Vernon

Jonathan Ryan Vernon, 28, employee of Lasko Corporation in Franklin, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at his residence. Family and friends will gather for visitation Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols followed by entombment in Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at 2:00 p.m. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. A graduate of Columbia Central High School, he was a member of the CHS Lions Golf Team and participated in and won a number of tournaments. Survivors include his daughter, Hailey Nicole Vernon of Columbia; mother, Janet Potts (John Boyd) Cothran of Culleoka; father, David (Cathy Cook) Vernon of Columbia; brother, Zach (Elizabeth) Vernon of Erie, Colorado; fiancée, Heather Davis, of Columbia; maternal grandparents, Betty Lou Holcomb and Billy Potts of Columbia; aunts, Phyllis (Sam) Davis and Vicki E. (Ray) Galloway of Columbia; niece, Stella Jane Vernon; cousins, Blake Davis, Kelsi Davis, Ray Galloway, and Holly Cole. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alberta Estes Vernon and Wallace Vernon. Serving pallbearers are Zach Vernon, Sonny Shackelford, Blake Davis, T. C. Norman, Cory Muehlbauer, and Jeremy Grooms.
