Sally Wright Frierson

Mrs. Sally Wright Freeland Frierson, 82, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Tri-Star Medical Center in Spring Hill surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Thomas Vann officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Walter Wright and Willie Verene Chapell Wright and was a graduate of Spring Hill High School. On January 8, 1986 she married William Pressgrove Frierson who preceded her in death April 18, 1995. She was a retired social worker and had worked fifteen years at Graymere Nursing Home. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family. Earlier in life she loved quilting, painting and square dancing. Survivors include her daughter, Vicky Richardson Baker of Columbia; granddaughter, Paula Prentice (Corey) Jacoby of Columbia; grandson, Sam (Norma) Prentice of Houston, Texas; great grandchildren, Ariel Prentice, Jacob Prentice, Tyler Dodson, Billie Ann Dodson, Addison Jacoby, Aiden Jacoby; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and lifelong friend Pam Bowen of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Freeland in 1980; a son, Stokley R. "Bob" Richardson, III; three sisters, Margaret Pennington, Catherine Pierce, Earlie Mae Benderman; and brother, Mack Wright. Pallbearers will be Sam Prentice, Corey Jacoby, Billy Dodson, Tyler Dodson, James Fraley and Ronnie Potts.
