Sandra Demastus Henslee

April 25, 1943 — May 2, 2012

Mrs. Sandra Gail Demastus Henslee, 69, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at her residence on Mooresville Pike. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Brother Danny McConnell officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society Memorial Foundation Hope Lodge Nashville, 2008 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John Demastus and Mary Pal Kirk Demastus. She was a homemaker who loved quilting and was an avid collector. She was a member of Zion Acres Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of fifty years, M.D. Henslee of Columbia, whom she married April 28, 1962; two sons, Dan (Mary) Henslee of California, David (Michelle) Henslee of Mt. Juliet; sister, Linda Anderson of Columbia; granddaughter, Brittney Henslee; grandsons, Chase Henslee, Justin Henslee, Chris Henslee, Seth Hallums; special friends Thomas and Brenda Curtin of Columbia; nephews, James (Melia) Anderson, Kirk (Pamela) Anderson; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Ruthie) Henslee of Mt. Juliet; one great niece, Caitrin Anderson; and one great nephew, Ryne Anderson. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Kirk Demastus.
