View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Sanford Davis, 90, longtime resident of the Leatherwood Community, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Ezell Rose and Rev. Bobby Cates officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Bend Cemetery. The Maury County native was the son of the late Johnnie Davis and Bertha Anderson Davis. He was a full time farmer and a member of Mission Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of sixty-eight years, Sarah Rebecca Primm Davis of Leatherwood; two sons, William Thomas "Tommy" (Debbie) Davis of Culleoka, Jerry W. (Peggy) Davis of Primm Springs; three brothers, Walker (Betty) Davis of Columbia, Dick (Dot) Davis of Williamsport, Floyd "Cotton" Davis of Hampshire; three sisters, Mrs. Hulda Beard, Miss Ethel Davis both of Columbia, Mrs. Myrtle Potts of Theta; five grandchildren, Steve (Mary Lewis) Davis, Andy (Katrina) Davis, Lorrie (Jonathan) O'Guin, Tracy (Tony) Bailey, Donna Jean Davis; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Hattie Hanes, Edna Riley, Mattie Kelley and a brother, Henry David Davis. Pallbearers will be Steve Davis, Andy Davis, Jonathan O'Guin, Johnny Davis, Randy Potts, Arnold Hanes, Kenny Kelley and Kenny Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews; Thomas White; Walt Garner; the staff of Life Care; and members of Mission Chapel Baptist Church.
