View Video Tribute Sarah Morrow Deason, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted friend to many, died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at her daughter's residence in Brentwood at the age of 90 years. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with David Morris and Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and after 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Born in Maury County the daughter of the late James Murphy Morrow and Nettie Walker Morrow, she spent her early years in the Enterprise Community and was a graduate of Haylong High School in Mt. Pleasant. She also attended Draughn's Business College in Nashville. Mrs. Deason was a long-time, faithful member of Highland Church of Christ and served as Church Secretary for 35 years prior to her retirement in 2009. She was known and appreciated for her devotion to the benevolent work of the church and personal care and attention to all who were in need. She married Robert H. "Bob" Deason March 3, 1946, well-known owner-operator of Deason's Attic for a number of years. Their 45-year marriage ended with his death January 2, 1990. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Steve) Sutherland of Brentwood; son, Wayne Deason of Columbia; grandchildren, Michael (Emily) Sutherland, Phillip Sutherland, and Ben (Mary Catherine) Sutherland; great-grandchildren, Crawford Sutherland, Henry Sutherland, and Charlotte Sutherland. She was preceded in death by brothers, Clyde Morrow, Reed Morrow, Joe Morrow, Jim Morrow, and Paul Morrow. Elders and Deacons of Highland Church of Christ will serve as pallbearers.
