Sarah Sue Phillips

November 29, 1992 — July 19, 2011

Sarah Sue Phillips, 18, server at the Flying Pig Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant and former employee of McDonald's Restaurants in Spring Hill and Columbia, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Reverend Raymond Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in Herkimer County, New York, she was a member of the Baptist Church and home-schooled. Survivors include her eleven-month old daughter, Sariah Lashay Phillips of Columbia; her parents, Monna Mae Wells Phillips and William Edward "Eddie" Phillips, Sr. of Columbia; maternal grandmother, Theresa Wells of Mohawk, New York; sisters, Billi Jo Baugh, Rebecca Phillips, Frances (Eddie) Randolph, and Amanda (Randy Whitehead) Phillips, all of Columbia; brother, William Edward Phillips, Jr. of Columbia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, in Maury County and New York. Active pallbearers are Wayne Phillips, Jimmy Phillips, Randy Whitehead, Robert Mooningham, Jim Bradburn, and Jason Bradburn. Honorary pallbearers include Eddie Randolph, J. J. Maple, Bobby Overstreet and employees of McDonald's.
