Sarah Jordan Minnigan, age 77, died peacefully at her residence, on Monday, April 3, 2011. Known to all as Sally, she was born in Nashville, TN, on January 27, 1934. She was preceded in death by her father, Hal R. Jordan, her mother, Mary Lipscomb Jordan, her infant son, Richard Donald Minnigan, Jr., and her nephew, Stephen Frost Nichols. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Richard Donald Minnigan (Don), Brentwood, TN, two sons, Hal Jordan Minnigan (Jane Diedrich), Zionsville, IN, and David Winn Minnigan (Lisa), Brentwood, TN., her sister, Mary Jordan Nichols (Polly), Nashville, TN., her niece, The Reverend Sarah W. Nichols, Studio City, CA, and five grandchildren, Bradley Mattox Minnigan, Leigh Jordan Minnigan, Ryan Winn Minnigan, Jordan Diedrich Minnigan, and Sadie Diedrich Minnigan. Sally attended The Ward-Belmont School and Harpeth Hall School where she was a member of the first graduating class in 1952. Sally continued her education at Radcliffe College, Cambridge, MA, leaving after the end of her sophomore year to marry Lt. J.G. Richard Donald Minnigan of the US Navy. Sally was a volunteer at Fannie Battle Day Home; a graduate of Watkins Institute School of Interior Design; and a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Franklin TN. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 510 W. Main Street. Franklin, TN, in Otey Hall from 12 noon to 2:00 pm, followed by a service to celebrate her life, The Reverend Robert Cowperthwaite officiating. A family burial service will take place at St. John's Episcopal Churchyard at Ashwood in Maury County. Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Z. Lipscomb III, William Wade Lipscomb, Dr. Paul R.
