View Video Tribute Shirley King Wright, 73, retired server, cook, and resident of Waverly, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. David Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 12:00 Noon to service time at the funeral home. Notes of condolence may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Ollie King and Dorothy Mayberry King and a 1957 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Mrs. Wright loved her children and grandchildren; going to yard sales, country music, movies, and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Her husband, Larry Wright, died November 28, 1964. Survivors include her daughters, Phyliss Simmons and Connie Barnhill of Waverly; sister, Barbara Norton of Orange Park, Florida; grandchildren, Wray (Paula) Wright of Murfreesboro, Elizabeth LeAnne (fiancée Timmy Malin) Simmons of Camden, Rachel Brooke (Jonathan) Morgan of Waverly, Courtney Barnhill (Robert) Landingham of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Christopher Barnhill of Waverly; great-grandchildren, Landyn Morgan, Mason Malin, and Karlee Morgan; special niece and nephew, Karen Logsdon and John Norton. Pallbearers are Timmy Malin, John Norton, Mike Logsdon, George Simmons, Justin Goetz, and Thomas Goetz.
