View Video Tribute View Visitation Stanley Bryan Maurer,74, died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at his residence in Giles County. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 at 3:30 P.M. Born May 16, 1946 in Eaton County, Michigan, he was the son of the late Donald Maurer and the late Phyllis Starkweather Maurer. Mr. Maurer was a self-employed excavator, loved being in his shop, woodworking, and racing at the dirt track. He served in the United States Navy and was in two tours in Vietnam as a Seabee. Survivors include his wife, whom he married August 23, 2003. Shelia Black Maurer of Lynnville; children, Bryan (Selena) Maurer of Culleoka; Jason (Martha) Maurer of Nashville; Chadwick Maurer of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; Virginia (Josh) Jones of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; Miranda Harmon of Columbia; grandchildren, Macy Maurer, Addison Maurer, Kaylee Jones, Tyler Jones, Russell Thompson, Riley Thompson, Reagan Harmon, Ryan Harmon, Chelsey (Mark) Shumaker, Autum Maurer, Jessie (Marcus) Baker, Kayla Dale, Justin Snitzer, Michael Ulman, Nikkie Ulman; sisters, Diane (David) Swathwood of Ludington, Michigan; Mary (Jack) Butterick of Fremont, Michigan; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Maurer and James Maurer.
