Stanley Louis Holtman, 74, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at his home on Pleasantwood Drive in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols the with Mike Coupe officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 8, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa, he was the son of the late James Henry Holtman and Helen Magdalena Roos Holtman. After graduation from high school in Memphis, he attended the University of Tennessee and graduated with a law degree in 1967. A country lawyer at heart, he had practiced in Franklin, Mt. Pleasant, and Columbia. Some of his favorite pastimes include reading and fishing. Mr. Holtman was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Ballard Holtman of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Angie (Kip) Watson and Avalyn (Richard) Bauer, both of Murfreesboro; Sara Fugate of Kingsport; and grandchildren, Tyler Watson, Caroline Watson, Neyland Watson, Sebastian Fugate, and Colton Fugate. Serving as pallbearers are Jim Beck, Tom Kirwan, Mike O'Neil, Don Piggins, Kip Watson, and Tyler Watson.
