Mr. Stanley Francis Wilczynski, 90, resident of Powell Drive in Culleoka, died Monday, February 9, 2015 at VA Medical Center in Nashville. A prayer service will be conducted Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Onondaga County Veteran's Cemetery in Syracuse, New York. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Columbia Lions Club, P.O. Box 694, Columbia, TN 38402. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Syracuse, New York native was the son of the late Stanislaw L. Wilczynski and Anna Brudzinski Wilczynski. On May 29, 1948 he married Theresa M. Sauve Wilczynski who preceded him in death April 6, 2012. Mr. Wilczynski served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II and was a retired metal fabricator with Lamson Corporation in Eastwood, New York. He was a life member of the American Legion, former Commander of Valley American Legion and former District Commander of the Central New York region of the American Legion and was a member of the Columbia Lions Club. He enjoyed gardening, ice fishing and hunting. Mr. Wilczynski was a member of St. Michael's-St. Peter's Catholic Church in Syracuse, New York. Survivors include his daughter, Sharon (Keith) Herrington of Culleoka; son, Stan Wilczynski of Weedsport, New York, brother, Joseph (Joan) Wilczynski of Solvay, New York; sisters, Mary Simon of Syracuse, New York and Frances Fietkiewicz of Absecon, New Jersey; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Skrupa.
