View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Steven Ray "Brody" Bratton, 57, retired employee of CSX Railroad, died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at his residence on Davis Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday after 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of Bernice Brown Bratton of Columbia and the late Clarence Sam Bratton. He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. An avid sports fan, Steve had played baseball and softball in several leagues throughout the years. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Kelly Ray (Shannon) Bratton of Pulaski; two grandchildren, Brooks Bratton and Halle Grace Bratton, both of Pulaski; and two brothers, Mike Bratton and David (Judy) Bratton, both of Columbia. He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry "Turtle" Bratton. Active pallbearers will be Levi Bratton, Sam Bratton, Jody Finn, Sims Curry, Steve Johnson, Rick Hutchens, and Marty Dreher. Honorary pallbearers will be former teammates of Action Property and McCandless Trucking softball teams.
