James Steven "Steve" Marshall, 60, retired lineman with Duck River Electric and resident of Old Highway 99, died Monday, November 30, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 12:00 noon at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Tandy Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Thursday after 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 4, 1955 in Knoxville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late H. W. "Bub" Marshall and the late Dorothy Ann Johnson Marshall. He was married to Brenda Lee Curry Marshall, who preceded him in death November 28, 2007. He was a member of Cross Bridges Baptist Church. Survivors include his sons, Donald (Tami) Blair of Columbia; Robby Marshall of Culleoka; Wes (Nicole) Marshall of Murfreesboro; daughter, Brianne (Mike) DeLoach of Columbia; grandchildren, Keith Blair, Hunter Blair, Taylor Blair, Hallie Marshall, Camden Marshall, and Conner DeLoach; brothers, Herschel Marshall and Greg Marshall; and special friends, Mary "Jaye" Lawrence and Jim (Pam) Pipkin. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Devin DeLoach. Active pallbearers will be Dwayne Sparkman, Shane Sparkman, Lee Sparkman, Brandon Curry, and Hunter Blair. Honorary pallbearers include Bobby Sparkman and friends at Duck River Electric.
