Sue Basdon Williamson

Virginia Sue Basdon Williamson, 83, retired employee of General Motors and resident of Carrington Lane, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Morning Pointe in Columbia surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to McCains Cumberland Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 29, Columbia, Tennessee 38402. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born April 2, 1931 in Mayhill, New Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Charles Basdon and Mae Stone Basdon. On June 15, 1953 she married Russell Lee Williamson who preceded her in death on January 16, 2005. Survivors include her son, Stephen (Vicky) Williamson of Columbia; grandchildren, Michelle (Dr. Bryan) Kurtz of Columbia; Scott (Jennifer) Williamson of Lynnville; and Shane Williamson of Columbia; five great grandchildren, Zachary Kurtz and Landon Kurtz, both of Columbia; Codie Whitley, Shawn Williamson, and Addison Williamson, all of Lynnville. Active pallbearers will be Scott Williamson, Shane Williamson, Steve Williamson, Dr. Bryan Kurtz, Zachary Kurtz, Landon Kurtz, and Shawn Williamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Blackburn and Bob Ramsey.
