Susan Kay "Sue" Stinnett

May 27, 1942 — April 13, 2015

Susan Kay Stinnett, aged 72, of Konawa, Oklahoma and formerly of Hampshire, Tennessee, passed away at her home on Monday, April 13, 2015 after a year and a half long battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Grace Community Church in Vamoosa, OK, officiated by Pastor Drew Isaacs and Rev. Darrell Stinnett. Born May 28, 1942 in Lincoln, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late John Z. and Ida Speed Treanor. Sue graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1960, and attended Moody Bible College in Chicago for three years before returning to Lincoln to attend and work for the University of Nebraska. She began singing on the Back to the Bible Broadcast when she was a young girl, and music continued to be a major part of her life. Sue moved to Oklahoma City in 1966 to live with her sister Sally, and there met Harmon Stinnett, her husband of 47 years. They married on November 4, 1967, in Oklahoma City. Sue spent her life as a homemaker and mother to two children Danny Stinnett of Hampshire, and Ellen Herriman of Konawa. She worked as a teacher's aide at Hampshire Unit School for 10 years, and later worked as a teller at BancFirst in Konawa. She is remembered by her family as a loving mother, sister, grandma, and aunt. Sue never met a stranger, and all remember her for her outgoing and loving personality, her sense of humor, her beautiful voice, and her love for her Lord. She is survived by her husband, Harmon Stinnett of Konawa, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Kelly Stinnett of Hampshire; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Herriman and Henry Keiner of Konawa, OK; granddaughter, Samantha (Kyle) Bays of Summertown; grandson David Herriman of Konawa, OK; and sister, Sally (Elmer) Kliewer of Oklahoma City, OK.
