Thelma Roberts Brewer

Mrs. Thelma Roberts Brewer, 85, resident of West 6th Street, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Church of Christ with David Morris, Barry Throneberry, and Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends after 3:00 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Fred Roberts and Lillie Bryant Roberts Stofel. She was a long-time, faithful member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Charles Ray Brewer of Columbia; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Larry Turner of Columbia; grandsons, Scott (Gina) Turner of Columbia and Brent (Katie) Turner of Lewisburg; great-grandchildren, Trevor turner, Morgan Turner, and Owen Turner of Lewisburg and Malli Shea Turner of Columbia; brother, Frederick Boyd (Betty) Roberts of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. Active pallberarers are, Larry Turner, Scott Turner, Brent Turner, Trevor Turner, Morgan Turner, and Owen Turner. Honorary pallbearers include Betty Modrall, Wilma "Piddle" Damron, Betty Pullen, Peggy McNeese, Linda Norman, Friday Morning Ladies at Bett's Beauty Shop, Elders and Deacons of Highland Church of Christ, Dr. Shawn Reed, and Shannon Oman. The family expresses appreciation to the staffs of the Skilled Nursing Unit and Hospice Unit at Maury Regional Medical Center for their care and concern during her illness.
