Thelma Fox Love

Thelma Fox Love, 89, retired inspector for Weather-Tamer Corporation and former resident of Goode Drive, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Joel Love, Jeff Thomason, and Dennis Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Philippi Church of Christ, 1317 Old TVA Road, Columbia 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to oakesandnichols.com. The Williamson County native was the daughter of the late Franklin Pierce Fox and Esther Vaughn Fox. Mrs. Love was a long-time member of Philippi Church of Christ and loved flower gardening, cross-stitching, and sewing. She married Claude Jackson Love on September 13, 1940. Their forty-one year marriage ended with his death May 16, 1981. Survivors include her daughters, Jean (David) Thomason of Santa Fe and Betty (Clovis, Jr.) Foster of Culleoka; sons, Claude Jackson (Jean) Love, Jr. of Columbia and Mark (Cathy) Love of Culleoka; sisters, Alma (James) Gossett of Franklin and Mary Helen Dean of Primm Springs; grandchildren, Dr. Ronnie (Kim) Thomason, Dennis (Jan) Thomason, Jeff (Cathey) Thomason, John (Jean) Thomason, Mary Beth (Bobby) Smartt, Celia (Kenneth) Owens, Clovis "Skip" (Tracy) Foster, III, Caroline McNeese, Joel (Brandy) Love, Jacob (Laurie) Love, Josh (Andrea) Love, and Jessica (Jeff) Williams, Andrew Love, William Love, Brandon Gibson, Stephen Rankin; thirty-three-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Marilyn Martinez; sisters-in-law, Lenora Fox, Jean Fox, and Geraldine Love; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by great-grandsons, Blake Smartt and Clint Owens; sisters, Zelma Fox and Katherine Bozeman; and brothers, Royace Fox and J. C. Fox. Mrs. Love's grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include the congregation of Philippi Church of Christ and residents and staff of Signature Health Care.
