View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Thelma Jean Murphy Roberson, 73, resident of Manson Pike in Murfreesboro, died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Alive Hospice. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Day Gooch officiating. Burial will follow in Lasting Hope Cemetery. Born October 5, 1942 in Maury County, She was the daughter of the late John Murphy and Beatrice Hill Murphy. She married Jerry Clark Roberson and their 27 year marriage ended with his death August 17, 2012. Mrs. Roberson lived in Mesa, Arizona for 30 years where she was a member of Mesa Church of Christ. She was active in Lady's Bible Class and loved traveling, especially mission trips to Trinidad. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Survivors include her children, Elizabeth Gooch (Mike) Greggs of Lewisburg; William Thomas "Trey" (Diana) Gooch, III of Murfreesboro; Patrick Murphy (Janna) Gooch of Murfreesboro; Bradford Day (Liliane) Gooch of Rogers, Arkansas; Robyn Roberson (Jeramie) Graham of Columbia; and Clark Roberson of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Deanna Greggs of Lewisburg; Jason (Jenna) Harrison, Christine (Josh) Arrington, Derek (Aimee) Harrison, Jared Gooch, Zachary Gooch, all of Murfreesboro; Andrew Gooch, William Gooch both of Rogers, Arkansas; Emily Graham, and Maggie Graham both of Columbia; four great grandchildren; and special niece, Dana Hughes Patton. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
