View Funeral Service WebcastMrs. Thelma Louise Hunt Beasley Shepherd, 79, resident of Dawson Dr., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Adkison Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family at Oakes & Nichols, Inc., P.O. Box 1015, Columbia, TN 38402. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Ohio County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Hunt and Ina May Miller Hunt Shellhorn. She was first married to Everett Conrad Beasley who preceded her in death then later married Larry Shepherd of Columbia. Mrs. Shepherd was a retired nurse's aide. In addition to her husband she is survived by three daughters, Karen (Robert) Tomblin, Linda (Donnie) McVay, Milly Edwards; three sons, Randy (Ruby) Beasley, Jerry (Helen) Beasley, Darrell (Kathy) Beasley; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren; four brothers, Elmer Hunt, Oscar Hunt, Lloyd Shellhorn and Jerry Shellhorn; and extended family and friends of Larry Shepherd. She was preceded in death by two sons, David Beasley and Larry Beasley and a grandson, Jadi Bailey. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
