View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Thomas Eugene Johnson, 68, retired from Gordon Foods, former sales representative for Robert Orr-Sysco, and former resident of Columbia, died Friday, July 1, 2011 at his residence in Louisville, Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was a 1961 graduate of Columbia Central High School and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Mr. Johnson enjoyed sports and coached softball for a number of years. He was a member and had served as a Deacon of Watterson Trail Church of Christ in Louisville. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jane Dreaden Johnson of Louisville; daughter, Sherrye (Scott) Isaacs of Louisville; son, S. E. (Tracy) Johnson of Louisville; his mother, Genevia Kelley Johnson Green of Columbia; grandchildren, Jacob Johnson and Abby Johnson; mother-in-law, Lorraine McAulay Dreaden of Columbia; brother-in-law, Charles Dreaden of Columbia; aunts, Norma Rosson and Irene (Joe) Huckaby of Columbia; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Eugene Johnson. Active pallbearers are Jimmy Bass, Jimmy Rochelle, Clarence Johnson, Roy White, Joe Huckaby, Doug Brown,Kerry Caufield, and Buddy Voss. Honorary pallbearers include Wayne Bass, Jacob Johnson, Scott Isaacs, and Charles Dreaden.
