Mr. Thomas W. Journey, Sr., 82, Maury County native, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Tucker, Georgia.Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Wages & Sons Funeral Home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Springs Cemetery in Maury County with Evangelists Brownlee Reaves, Patrick Gampp, and Allen Shepherd officiating. Born in Maury County, he was the son of the late Orville Bruce Journey and Ruth Hargrove Journey. Mr. Journey made his home in Georgia the past 50 years and was retired from AT&T with 43 years service. He was a member of Lawrenceville Church of Christ, Lawrenceville, Georgia. He is survived by wife of 58 years, Jean Graham Journey of Tucker, Georgia; son, Thomas W. Journey, Jr. of Stone Mountain, Georgia; daughters, Virginia Journey of Knoxville, Sandra Swann of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Shannon Dixon of Cumming, Georgia, and Roxanne Nieman of Auburn, Georgia; grandchildren, Jessica Journey, Miranda Swann, Justin Nieman; brother, Dwight Journey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
