Tracy Shawn Landry, 48, former employee of Cytec Corporation and resident of North Bigby Drive, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro. Graveside services will be Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery with Wade Turner officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U. S. Navy Honor Guard. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 to 3:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was a 1979 graduate of Columbia Military Academy where he excelled in sports. He was quarterback for the CMA Bulldogs football team and member of the baseball team and an inductee in the Pop Warner Football Hall of Fame. Following graduation from CMA, he attended Middle Tennessee State University. After enlisting in the U. S. Navy he was assigned to submarine duty during the Persian Gulf War. He was baptized into the Church of Christ. Survivors include his daughter, Kacey Landry; his mother, Nancy Pruitt Landry; sister, Shannon (Bill) Doelle, all of Columbia; niece and nephews, Delaney Allen, Dustin Harrington, and Cory Harrington; aunts, June King, Mary Runions of Columbia and Mildred "Midget" Turner of Harrogate; several other aunts and uncles in Louisiana; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, William Paul "Bill" Landry. Active pallbearers are Dustin Harrington, Brandon Sprouse, Jason Sprouse, Jackie Sprouse, Mark Runions, and Bill Doelle. Honorary pallbearers include employess of Cytec Corporation, Billy Pruitt, Clint Watkins,and Raymond Sensat. Honorary pallberarers include his life-time friends and classmates.
