View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Ulna Raymond Fox, 90, former long-time resident of Williamsport Pike in Columbia, died Sunday, May 22, 2010 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Jim Gardner, Rev. Thomas Vann, and Dr. Mike Ripski officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Belle Meade United Methodist Church, 121 Davidson Road, Nashville 37205. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the son of the late William Hugh Fox and Clara Lou Hunter Fox and attended Hickman County High School. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II from 1940 to 1945, and as a member of the 115th Field Artillery Division participated in the Battle of the Bulge. For 29 years, Mr. Fox was a machine operator for E. I. DuPont de Nemours Company. He was a member of American Legion Post #5 in Nashville. Since making his home in Nashville, he was a member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church and was a former member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. Since his retirement, he enjoyed working in the outdoors in his garden, tending his yard, and especially loved visiting with and making new friends, and was a doting grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lena Donegan Fox, whom he married September 12, 1947; daughter, Phyllis Fox Vaughn of Nashville; son, Steven Ray (Jeanne Minor) Fox of Fayetteville; granddaughter, Sidney Rae Fox (Wesley) Ogle of Vanntown; grandsons, Gregory Ray Fox of Fayetteville and Phillip Houston Vaughn of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Samantha Rae Ogle and Wesley Ty Ogle, both of Vanntown; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers. Active pallbearers are Phillip Vaughn, Gregory Fox, Wesley Ogle, Gary Donegan, David Fox, and Daryl Fox. Honorary pallbearers include the Fellowship Class at Craft Memorial United Methodist Church, Helen Hardison, Betty and Jerry Johns, Martha and G. W. Miller, Janice Logue, and Doris and Massey Davis.
