View Funeral WebcastMr. Ulner Scott Morrow, 85, former employee of Rhone-Polenc Agricultural Company and resident of the Hampshire Community, died peacefully Tuesday, January 2, 2014 at his son's home in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bishop Douglas Fry officiating. Burial will follow in Morrow Cemetery in Hampshire with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Alzheimer's Association, 4825 Trousdale Drive, Nashville, Tennessee 37220. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hampshire native was the son of the late Connie Ulna Morrow and Edna Alice Scott Morrow. He was a graduate of Hampshire High School and attended Columbia State Community College. Mr. Morrow was a member of the 173rd Armored Cavalry Regiment of the Tennessee National Guard where he served for seven years and was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was one of the first to serve a mission for his church from this area having served a two year mission in the Eastern States Mission. There have been more than fifty-five members of his immediate family who have also served missions for their church all over the world. Mr. Morrow was very active in church affairs in Tennessee, Kentucky, New York and parts of West Virginia. He held many positions of leadership in his church during his lifetime including Branch President, District President and was a High Priest at the time of his death. In his early years he was active in community affairs including the Cub Scouts and coaching the women's PTA basketball team. He was an avid reader and loved to travel. He and his family took many vacation trips to different places. He loved the outdoors and following his retirement he continued working on his farm, raising cattle and horses, gardening and maintaining his beautiful flower beds until illness slowed him down. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Dolores Baker Morrow of Hampshire whom he married in the Salt Lake Temple of their church; two sons, Stephen Ray (Vicky) Morrow and David Todd (Crystal) Morrow both of Mt. Pleasant; grandsons, David Scott Morrow, Andrew Caleb Morrow, Justin Todd Morrow all of Mt. Pleasant, Hayes Chandler Morrow of Franklin; granddaughter, Lauren Raye Morrow of Hampshire; great-grandson, Jarrett Braden Stephens of Hampshire; three step-grandsons, Andrew Scott Hay, Bryson Dwight Hay both of Mt. Pleasant, Tyler Ross of Oklahoma City, OK; step-granddaughter, Cheyenne Summer Munden of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Betty Jo (Wayne) Clawson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mildred Voorhies Parker and Connie Alice (Dr. Taylor) Rayburn both of Columbia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven sisters, Rebecca Jane Callahan, Annie Porter McCaleb, Edna Brown Vowles, Rachel Deene Massey, Eva Gray Morrow and Dorothy May Morrow who both died in infancy, Mary Elizabeth Dastrup and one brother, Robert Lee Morrow.Active pallbearers include David Scott Morrow, Andrew Caleb Morrow, Justin Todd Morrow, Charles Phillips, Billy Ray Campbell, Rodney Poche, Ralph Butler, Mike Poulan, David Haymons and Billy Haymons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elder Quorum and High Priest Quorum. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Reams Powers and the Staff at Hospice Compassus.
