Van Keith Hanes, 59, former employee of Intermet Corporation in Pulaski and resident of the Lynnville Community, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Hillside Hospital in Pulaski. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 noon at Oakes & Nichols with Randy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Hanes Cemetery in the Leatherwood Community. The Hickman County native was the son of the late Conner J. Hanes and Hattie Imogene Davis Hanes. He was a member of Odd Fellows Church of Christ. Always an outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and goat and chicken farming. Survivors include sisters and brothers, Hattie Imogene Hanes Rye of Tennessee Ridge, Conner O'Neil (Rachel) Hanes of Leatherwood, Ila Joyce Hanes Carpenter of Clarksville, Minor (Reecie) Hanes of Lyles, Kathrine Hanes of Leatherwood, Dell Hanes Hines of Columbia, Arthur (Maggie) Hanes of Culleoka, Arnold (Mary) Hanes of Leatherwood, and Aaron Hanes of Leatherwood; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Kay Hughes of Minor Hill. Pallbearers are Gary Hanes, Britt Hanes, Chad Hanes, Michael Hanes, Joey Oliver, and Barry Stubblefield.
