Vernell Stewart Kelley, 63, homemaker, died Thursday, April 3, 2014 at her residence on Early Road in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Eddie Milner officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 - 3:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Williamson County native was the daughter of the late Doris Stewart and Elvia Mae Cates Stewart. She was married to Harold D. Kelley who preceded her in death on January 8, 2014. One of her favorite pastimes was watching wrestling on TV. She enjoyed food and cooking for her family. Survivors include two daughters, Velba (Eddie) Milner of Columbia and Barbara Alred of Nashville; one son, Harold D. Kelley, Jr. of Columbia; mother-in-law, Beatrice Grimes Kelley Boshears of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Nathaniel Shaw Kelley, James Mitchell Kelley, Jr., Emmanuel Clarence Milner, Erica Alred, and Michael Alred; seven great grandchildren, Talgalexius "Tinky" Garrett, J. J. Kelley, Keyashia Alred, Breyonna Alred, Jamichael Alred, Vincent Alred, and Jamarian Dawson; two brothers, Roger Stewart and Danny (Dorothy) Stewart; four sisters, Mildred Kelley, Pauline (Kenny) Norman, Deloise (Jerry) Love, and Mary Ann Kelley; brothers-in-law, Eddie (Shirley) Kelley, Stanley (Norma) Kelley, James (Barbara) Kelley, and Larry Kelley. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
