Victoria Vaughn Sweeney, 72, a resident of Spring Hill, Tennessee, died peacefully at her residence on Monday, August 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. A private graveside inurnment will be held at Polk Memorial Columbarium at a later date. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born on February 9, 1954, in Columbia, Tennessee, Victoria was the daughter of Jean Watson Vaughn and the late Charles Edward Vaughn. She married Samuel P. "Sam" Sweeney IV, on June 1, 1973, and together they shared more than fifty-three years of marriage.

A 1972 graduate of Columbia Central High School, Victoria went on to earn her nursing degree from Columbia State Community College. She dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a registered nurse, serving faithfully at Williamson Medical Center until her retirement.

She was a loving wife, devoted daughter, treasured mother, proud grandmother, and delighted great-grandmother. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life. Her kindness, grace, and selfless love will be remembered always by those who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Samuel P. "Sam" Sweeney IV of Spring Hill; her mother, Jean Watson Vaughn of Brentwood; daughters, Vaughn Cockrum (Keith) and Brooke Sweeney, both of Spring Hill; grandchildren, Carly Mahaney (Ryan) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jakob Cockrum, Cooper Cockrum, and Liam Cockrum, all of Spring Hill; great-grandson, Bentley Mahaney of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sister, Susan Vaughn of Brentwood; niece, Bethany Hawkins (Matt) of Brentwood; great-niece, Madeline Hawkins of Brentwood; and her beloved labradoodle Max the Dog.
