Virginia Rivera Boze

Mrs. Virginia Rivera Boze, 76, a resident of Columbia, passed away on April 8, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Born on September 21, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Alfonso Rivera and the late Margaret Torres Rivera. She was united in marriage to James D. Boze in December of 1966, and together they shared 14 years of marriage until his passing in 1980.

Mrs. Boze was a woman of strong faith and a devoted member of Grace Nazarene Church. She was an avid viewer of Trinity Broadcasting Network and found great joy in Christian music and listening to the life stories of others. She also enjoyed watching movies, especially Lifetime movies. Known for her warm spirit, she found humor in everything and cherished the time she spent with her family. She especially enjoyed her son’s cooking and took great pride in her children’s accomplishments, often expressing how proud she was of her daughter becoming a nurse and her son becoming an electrician.

Survivors include her son, James (Wendy) Boze III; daughter, Lisa Evans; grandchildren, Jessica (Anthony) Reaves, Joshua Workman, Nicole Boze, Rebekah (Darrin) Tyler, and Danielle Boze; and great-grandchildren, Allyson Reaves and Kathryn Reaves.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Sudak, and Marty Rivera.

Mrs. Boze will be remembered for her loving heart, joyful spirit, and the deep pride she held for her family.
