Virginia Bolton King, 90, widow of Robert G. King, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Brother Tom Cox and Rev. William Robert Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Edward Bolton and Cordelia Jones Bolton. She attended Elmore Church of the Nazarene and formerly attended the Church of God of Prophecy. Mrs. King loved flower gardening and bird watching. She was married May 21, 1937 to Robert Gentry "Gabby" King. Their 60 year marriage ended with his death October 28, 1997. Survivors include a son, Robert E. "Bobby" (Ophelia) King of Duck River; daughter, Sharon Delores King of Columbia; son-in-law, Jerry Wiley of Columbia; grandchildren, Tony (Judy) King of Nolensville, Lisa (Kevin) Ragland of White House, Tim (Lorie) King of Bon Aqua, Lynn (Bill) Jackson of Duck River, Todd King of Duck River, and Rev. William Robert (Angie) Wiley of Lebanon; great-grandchildren, Tracy King, Robert Graham King, Zachary Ragland, Kyle King, Adam King, Austin King, Blair King, Paige King, Christopher Campbell, and Nicole Moore; great-great-grandchildren, McKenzie King and Alexander Moore; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dogs, Blossom and Tipper. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Omie King Wiley; sisters, Rosa LaRue, Lillian Clark, Lizzie Vandiver, Odie Mae Clark; brothers, Eugene Bolton, Muncy Steward, and Murry D. Steward.
