View Funeral WebcastCarrie Virginia "Tincy" Patterson, 89, retired Registered Nurse and resident of Rosewood Drive, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at NHC Columbia.Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Bob Adair and Rev. Jim Ledbetter officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Stateline Cemetery in Madison County, Alabama. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com.Born in Madison County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Arch Patterson, Sr. and Beulah Hughey Patterson. She was a 1941 graduate of Lewis County High School and 1947 graduate of Nashville General Hospital School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at King's Daughters Hospital. When Maury County Hospital began operation in 1953, she began work there and later worked at Eliza Coffee Hospital in Florence, Alabama until her retirement in 1983.She was a long-time member of Highland Park Baptist Church.Survivors include brothers, Arch Patterson, Jr. of Columbia and Ray (Shirley) Patterson of Pearcy, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Adair; and brothers, Woodrow Patterson, Richard Patterson, Theo Patterson, E. B. Almon Patterson, Billy Patterson, Calvin Patterson, Eugene Patterson, Sherlock Patterson, Cody James Patterson. Pallbearers are James Thomas Patterson, Wayne Whitwell, Wendell Patterson, Jonathan Patterson, David Russell, Steve Patterson, and Todd Bolton.
