View Video Tribute View Funeral WebcastMrs. Virginia Bell Tallent, 91, resident of The Bridge and former resident of Iris Circle, died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Donna Higginbotham and Rev. Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Nebo Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Mt. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Will Lewis Bell and Nora Primm Chamberlain Bell. On July 26, 1943 she married Glenn Oliver Tallent who preceded her in death November 21, 2000. She had worked as secretary and library assistant for the Broward County School System in Florida. She was a volunteer at Maury Regional Medical Center for many years. Mrs. Tallent enjoyed crocheting, sewing, flowers and spending time with her family. She was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son, Robert Glenn Tallent of Stafford, Virginia; sisters, Barbara Bell (Frank) Thomas of Columbia, Jane Bell Jones of Mt. Pleasant; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Grimmett, William "Bill" Harlan both of Columbia, Randall Lee of Woodstock, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Helen Johnston of Chattanooga, Helen Bell of Columbia; special godchild, Adrianna Sefton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Suzanne Tallent; sisters, Billie Bell Kincaid, Mary Lee Bell Harlan, Lounora Bell Grimmett; and brothers, Lewis Chamberlain Bell, James Thomas Bell and Joe Fearon Bell. Active pallbearers will be Stan Bell, Ken Harlan, Allen Kincaid, Michael Kincaid, Jeff Kincaid, Tim Bell, Kent Bell, Byron Jones, Garrick Jones, Todd Greer, Steven Thomas, Larry Johnston and Alan Lee. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Maury Regional Auxillary and the men of Mt. Nebo Church.
