View Video Tribute Virginia Ann Spires Watson, 70, affectionately known as "Granny", resident of Napier Drive, died Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 4:00 p.m. to service time. Notes of sympathy may be extended at www.oakesnichols.com. Born in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Rogers Spires, Sr. and Rosie Viola Spires. She was member of Lawrence Grove Baptist Church and attended Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Kathy Harper, Donnie Spires, Tammy (Jake) McEvers, Tina (Ronald) Harlach, and Mary McClain; special son, Paul Watson; grandchildren, Jerry Love, Rhonda Love, Jennifer (Daniel) Williams, Candice (William) BesWetherick, Joey Harlach, Jonathan McClain, Dekota Harlach, John Moore, Matthew (Katy) Spires, Kristin Watson, and Makenzie Watson; great-grandchildren, Hope Love, Jordan Montgomery, Piper Williams, Dylan Williams, Jaxsen Williams, Jacob Childress, Ty BesWetherick, and Jackson Spires; sister, Shirley Jean Bunting; brother, Bobby Joe Spires; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Rogers Spires, Jr., and sisters, Maggie Lee Yowell, Margaret Louise McClain, Patricia Jane Spires, Mary Carol Spires, and Ella Ruth Watson. Her grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
