Walter Benton "Benny" Kelley, Jr., 64, retired truck driver for Industrial Products Corporation, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his residence in Mt. Pleasant. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Stephen Kelley officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Notes of condolence may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. He was a native of Maury County and son of the late Walter Benton Kelley, Sr. and Helen Doris Ambrose Kelley. He was a 1969 graduate of Columbia Central High School and member of Southside Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Kelley enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Survivors include his daughter, Melinda (Greg) Sanders of Eagleville; son, Neal Wade Kelley of Smyrna; sister, Diane (Richard) Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Bradley (Martha) Kelley of Selmer; granddaughter, Brandy Sue Hedrick (Steven Wayne) Burlason of Nashville; grandson, Dalton Wade Kelley of Smyrna; great-grandson, Steven Wayne Burlason, Jr.; special nephew, Anthony (Rachel) Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant; and aunt, Betty Mash of Mt. Pleasant. Active pallbearers are Bradley Kelley, Greg Sanders, Richard Lindsey, Anthony Lindsey, Bill Manee, and other family and friends. Honorary pallbearers include employees of Industrial Products Corporation, Cindy, Sue, and other employees and friends of Small Town Diner, Diane Davis, and Mary Kay Pokorney.
