View Funeral Webcast Wanda Lee Monteith May, 63, co-owner of R. C. May Jewelers on the Public Square and resident of Porter Circle, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Gatlinburg while on a week-end trip with her family. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Bill Watkins and Mike Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Berea Church of Christ, 746 Bear Creek Pike, Columbia, TN 38401. Mrs. May was active in the work of the Berea Church of Christ and was an able and devoted assistant to her husband in his ministry of the church and God's work. She is survived by her husband, Carl Wiley May, whom she married May 20, 1972. Also surviving are her children, Elizabeth (Darron) Chapman, David (Crystal) May, and Michael May; grandchildren, Megan May, Logan May, Scarlett May, and Sophia Chapman. Serving as active pallbearers are Woody Loden, Jeff Johnston, John Price, Chris Chumley, Jeff Sherman, and Chris England. Honorary pallbearers include Frank England, Henry Chapman, Marty Tyree, Andy Pogue, Wayne Hardison, and the congregation of Berea Church of Christ.
