Wayne Lentz

Douglas Wayne Lentz, 87, retired mechanic with Mt. Pleasant Manufacturing for nearly 40 years, died Saturday, August 16, 2025 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

He was born on May 13, 1938 in Culleoka, TN to the late Allen Dean Lentz and the late Willie Louise Caskey Lentz. He graduated from Culleoka High School in 1957. On October 31, 1958 he married Frances Virginia Fannin Lentz who preceded him in death on January 6, 1999. He loved woodworking and was a member of Highland Church of Christ.

Survivors include his children, Mike (Stacey) Lentz of Culleoka and Pam Lentz White of Columbia; sister, Faye Lentz Kinzer of Columbia; sister in law, Linda Fannin Johnson of Culleoka; two granddaughters, Bethany White (Josh) Lowry of Lawrenceburg and Stephanie White (Daniel) Williams of Columbia; four great grandchildren, Caleb Lowry, Abby Lowry, Kelsey Williams and Nathan Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William (Billie) Lentz and Marlin (Faye) Lentz; sister, Dorothy Lentz (Bill) LaCroix; sister in law and brother in law, Era Dell Johnson and Harold Johnson; brothers in law, Adrian Johnson and Mike Kinzer.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Polk Memorial Gardens with Elliotte Kinzer officiating. The family will visit with friends at the cemetery following the service.

Active pallbearers will be Josh Lowry, Caleb Lowry, Nathan Williams, Daniel Williams, Eddie Straight, Jordan Compton and Mike Lentz. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center for their care.
