William Jerry Ayers

William Jerry Ayers, 72, retired purchasing agent for ConalCo and Home Depot, died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Countryside Health Care in Lawrenceburg. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Butch Martin officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at a later date with military honors provided by the U. S. Air Force. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Fred Lenzy Ayers and Jewel Palmer Ayers. He was a 1956 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served four years in the U. S. Air Force from 1961-1965. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Ayers Banks of Nashville; son, Michael (Shelly Clark) Ayers of Columbia; sister, Joyce Ayers (Billy) Pressnell of Rockvale; grandchildren, James Lenzy Banks of Nashville, Meagan Ayers, Clark Ayers, and Brannon Ayers; two great-grandchildren; niece, Cindy Pressnell Hodges and nephew, Billy Clay Pressnell.
