View Funeral WebcastWilliam Terry Evetts, 66, retired employee of Ford Glass Plant, died Friday, December 11, 2015 at his residence on Roy Sellers Road. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor LeRoy Crouch officiating. Burial will follow in Lasting Hope Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Lasting Hope Cemetery, c/o Winnie Love, 412 Cheyenne Trail, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 31, 1949 in Macon County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William Shelton Evetts and Maude Lillian Ballou Evetts. Mr. Evetts enjoyed farming, raising mules, hunting and fishing. He was a master carpenter and loved helping family and friends build houses. He was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Hutcherson Evetts, whom he married December 9, 1966; children, William Randal Evetts and Bobby Joe Evetts, both of Columbia; grandchildren, William Blaine Evetts and Kayla Renae Evetts, both of Columbia; sisters, Judy (Hollis) Flatt of Gallatin, Sheila (LeRoy) Crouch of Westmoreland; brothers, Gary (Nina) Evetts of Portland; Mark (Pam) Evetts of Murfreesboro; brothers-in-law, Gary (Cara) Hutcherson of Chattanooga; Terry (Mona) Hutcherson of Gallatin; David (Julie) Hutcherson of Columbia; mother-in-law, Edna Hutcherson of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will include Gary Hutcherson, Terry Hutcherson, David Hutcherson, Eddie Hickman, Robert Wakefield, Brandon Evetts, Billy Hazelwood, Michael Crouch, Darrell Bailey, and Marty Hutcherson. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Mark Messenger and the staff of Maury Regional Cancer Center.
