View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast William C. Love, Jr., 66, retired quality engineer and resident of Ashwood Drive, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Bill Alsup and Tony Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late William Clarence Love, Sr. and a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Love was retired from Conalco in Columbia and Johnson Control and also worked as a quality engineer for several other plants in the surrounding area. He served as a House Parent for the Cornerstone Program at the Tennessee Children's Home in Spring Hill and later worked in the Meat Department for the Kroger Company in Spring Hill until diagnosed with kidney cancer in September, 2009. Survivors include his wife, the former Donna Stewart, whom he married July, 1966; children, Jimmy (Sharon) Love, Deonna (Steve) Phillips, and Christopher Love, all of Columbia; grandchildren, Hayden Love, Hunter Love, Dylan Marcrom, and Cruz Phillips; his mother, Ethel Sanders Love of Columbia; sisters, Joyce (Carroll) Beard of Columbia and Jane (Charles) Davis of Culleoka; niece, Tracy (Steve) Ellis and nephew, Chip (Tracy) Davis of Columbia; several great-nieces and great-nephews. Active pallbearers are Frank Stewart, Jim Stewart, Glyn Stewart, Ben Stewart, Robby Sims, Anthony Sims, Chip Davis, Chet Bauman, and Tyler McBroom. Honorary pallbearers include TOH Alumni, Hardison's Mill Campers, Darrell Sharp, and Tony and Pat Collins. The family expresses appreciation to the staff of Columbia Carriage House Florist for their kindness and concern during his illness.
